Old Games Zine 2026

The Old Games Zine makes a triumphant return in 2026, thanks to Hannah Chafe and the folks at the Syd Bolton Collection!

This year's zine is All About Cartridge Cleaning, and provides a simple step-by-step guide for cleaning your retro videogame cartridges. Feel free to download and print as many copies as you like. They make a great addition to retro game stores, videogame research collections, and zine libraries.

Located at The University of Toronto Mississauga, the Syd Bolton Collection contains almost 14,000 videogames and hundreds of consoles and systems, along with over 5,000 issues of game magazines, hundreds of books and literature, peripherals, and related technology, materials, and documents.

Never made a zine before? You can check out this excellent guide from Taylor Wright Rushing on how to fold and cut zines. Just make sure you center the PDF on the page when you print (and that you’re not scaling or “fitting” it to the print area).
